Police Make Arrest In Triple Shooting Outside NH Store
Tariq Alston, 19, of Manchester is accused of firing several shots outside a Union Street Market where three people were shot on April 7.
MANCHESTER, NH — Police have arrested Tariq Alston, 19, of Manchester in connection to an investigation of a shooting that injured multiple people outside of Seven Days Market on April 7.
Alston is accused of felony reckless conduct and was charged on Monday.
Police responded to the report of shots fired near Union and Cedar streets. When they arrived at the scene, they located the victims suffering from gunshot wounds. The victims were rushed to the Elliot Hospital by AMR ambulance and Manchester Fire.

A short time later a third person was dropped off at the Elliot Hospital, also suffering from a gunshot wound. Interviews with witnesses at the scene indicated all three victims were shot in the area of Cedar and Union streets area.
Police said, after the initial shooting, two witnesses to the incident advised they heard additional gunfire while people began to render aid to the victims.

Two men emerged from the alley Spruce Street South Back. One was a thin man wearing dark pants and a dark sweatshirt who ran easterly across Union Street. The other man was wearing light-colored pants, a dark sweatshirt, and had red dreadlock hair. The man with the dreadlocks, according to witnesses, ran southerly across Seven Days parking lot while firing a silver revolver-style handgun back toward the alley. The suspect, according to court paperwork, shot a firearm northerly toward Don Quijote Restaurant located on Union Street while facing and running southerly.
This shooting is observed in video cameras located outside Seven Days Market.
Detectives reviewed several clips of video from multiple locations in the area. The two men were seen on video exiting Seven Days Market shortly before the shooting. The males are seen north of the scene, and then move to the front of a house on Cedar Street that is captured on video. Three males are seen in front of the house.
At 10:09 p.m., police accused the man with red dreadlocks of being caught on surveillance video firing the handgun outside the store at the victims and is then seen running away from the scene southerly on Union Street, a report stated.
Detectives used the image captured from the video were able to distribute it to other officers who identified the man with red dreadlocks as Alston of Bell Street in Manchester.
Alston is charged with one count of felony reckless conduct. Alston appeared in Hillsborough County Court for a bail hearing Tuesday.
Update: Alston was given Personal Recognizance bail status. The condition of the bail is that he shall not possess a firearm, destructive device, dangerous weapon, or ammunition. Alston can't consume an excessive amount of alcohol or use any drug or controlled substance as defined in RSA 318-B.
The defendant shall not go to Seven Days Market or Don Quixote Restaurant and shall not go within 100 feet of these businesses. He was also required to sign a waiver of extradition.
Manchester Police Chief Aldenberg said he is disheartened that a person charged in such a serious crime was released on Personal Recognizance.
