LONDONDERRY, NH — A GoFundMe.com effort has been started to create a scholarship fund to honor a Londonderry teen who died in a car crash on Friday.

Jacob Naar, 17, died after a car he was driving struck a tree and burst into flames on Hardy Road. Naar was a senior at Londonderry High School and played football, where he was captain of the team, and also played lacrosse.

According to Mary Reyes, the organizer of the site, the family appreciates all the support it has received in the community — including people who have reached out to them, posted memories on social media sites, kept them in their prayers, and shared stories about Naar with each other.

On Thursday, between 6 and 8 in the high school parking lot, donations will also be accepted and yard signs and car decals will be available, too.

"The best thing this community can do is keep sharing pictures and stories about Jake with one another," Reyes said. "Keep leaning on each other as needed and love one another more now than ever. Let’s all continue to live life with 'No Bad Days' and keep #2 in your hearts."
