
With the recent injuries to Andrew Bailey and Andrew Miller, the Boston Red Sox could certainly use some relief pitching help.
According to a NESN.com story, one possibility is Londonderry's own Brian Wilson, who has yet to hook on with a team since being let go by the San Francisco Giants. He reportedly threw a mound session on Monday at the University of San Francisco, and is scheduled to throw again in front of teams on Thursday.
The NESN story suggests that Wilson could be a good fit for the Sox, possibly even as a closer, which would allow Koji Uehara to return to a set-up role. Another benefit of signing Wilson would be that it wouldn't cost the Sox any of their top prospects.
Wilson was born in Winchester, Mass., but was raised in Londonderry and graduated from Londonderry High School.
