2 Merrimack Students Graduate From Academy Of Notre Dame

TYNGSBORO, MA — Two young women from Merrimack, New Hampshire, were among 36 recent graduates of the Academy of Notre Dame in Tyngsboro. Annabelle Fandozzi and Taylor Martineau received their diplomas during the 165th Commencement Ceremony on Saturday, last month. Both are Merrimack residents who cofounded National Art Honor Society at Notre Dame Academy.

In addition to being co-president and cofounder of National Art Honor Society, Fandozzi was vice president of the student-run art magazine, The Muse, in her time at the academy. She was also captain of the cross-country team.

Fandozzi received an Art Honor Society award at the Notre Dame Academy's baccalaureate held May 30, and was also awarded a Greater Lowell Roadrunners Scholarship. In the fall, she plans to attend Savannah College of Art and Design in Atlanta to study film.

Martineau has been a Notre Dame Academy student since kindergarten. At the academy's baccalaureate, she received a 13-year Award and a scholarship from the Friends of NDA.

During her time at Notre Dame Academy, Martineau was president and cofounder of National Art Honor Society and was president of The Muse. She was also a member of the National Honor Society and the Drama Guild.

All graduates of Notre Dame Academy's Class of 2019 were accepted into more than 90 colleges or universities across the U.S., Canada and Ireland, academy officials said. The 36 graduates have earned more than $8 million in scholarships combined. More than half of the graduates plan to major in a STEM-related field.

Notre Dame Academyis a private co-ed Catholic school for kindergarten through eighth grade, and is also a college-preparatory school for young women, sponsored by Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur. The academy accepts students of all faiths.
