Child Flown To Boston Hospital After Injuries From Burns

Boston MedFlight landed at Bishop Field to meet Merrimack Fire Rescue with a young child with burns

MERRIMACK, NH - On August 9, 2020 Merrimack Fire Rescue, and Merrimack Police responded to a call on Woodward Rd. for a young child that had suffered burns.

Fire & EMS crews on the scene requested the availability of a medical helicopter to transport the child. DHART helicopter based out of Manchester was on a mission in Maine, the next closest was Boston MedFlight.

A landing zone was set up at Bishop Field by MFR, and MPD. The helicopter arrived within 15 minutes, and the flight medics met the ambulance who had the patient waiting.

MedFlight Paramedics stabilized the patient and prepared the patient for transport. The victim was loaded for transport to Mass General Hospital and the helicopter took off at 6:17 pm.

The cause of the burns is unknown, and Merrimack Police is investigating. Merrimack Fire Rescue called the injuries serious.
