Driver Dies In Merrimack Vehicle Crash On Everett Turnpike

A driver has died in a single-vehicle crash on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack, just south of Exit 10.

MERRIMACK, NH — A driver died Wednesday in a single-vehicle crash on the Everett Turnpike in Merrimack, when a vehicle went off the road and struck a tree head-on, according to the New Hampshire State Police. The accident happened around 12:50 p.m. just south of Exit 12, on Everett Turnpike South. Troopers are not releasing the identity of the driver until the next of kin is notified.

State police said it is currently unknown what caused the driver to go off the road. The driver was driving south on the turnpike just before the accident. The Medical Examiner's Office pronounced the driver dead on scene, state police said.

Traffic in the area was restricted to one lane for about two hours while police investigated the incident. Anyone with further information about the accident is asked to call State Police Troop B at 603-223-4381 or email Robert.Bifsha@dos.nh.gov.
