Fatal Merrimack Crash On Amherst Road
Merrimack police said a driver was killed after crashing into a tree off Amherst Road.
MERRIMACK, NH -- A driver was killed after a crash in Merrimack on Amherst Road Monday night. Police said the crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. when the driver veered off the road for an unknown reason and hit a tree. The driver was trapped and firefighters pulled the individual from the wreckage, according to Merrimack Police Captain Matthew Tarleton.
The driver was transported to a local hospital and pronounced dead.
The identity of the driver was withheld as authorities notified his/her family, Tarleton said in a statement.

The cause of the crash was under investigation. There were no other occupants. The driver was the wheel of a 2008 Hyundai Elantra.
