Fire Department: Watch Out for Frozen Pipes
Bitter cold temperatures will stick around for one more day; Town Council to meet on Thursday night.

Bitter cold temps stick around: Merrimack residents will have to endure one more day of freezing cold temperatures thanks to a deep arctic freeze that arrived in New Hampshire Tuesday. Temperatures are expected to moderate later this week.
Watch out for frozen pipes: The Merrimack Fire Department wants property owners to watch out for frozen pipes after the latest deep freeze ends and temperatures warm up later this week. Their advice is to keep rooms heated above 32 degrees where pipes exist or drain water from pipes in homes and buildings that are unoccupied.
Town Council to meet Thursday: The Town Council will hold its first meeting of 2014 on Thursday at 7 p.m., which will be preceded by a public hearing on 59 Wire Road. The agendas for these and other town meetings can be viewed on the town web site.
Volunteers needed: Several town boards and committees need members of the community who wish to volunteer their time and expertise. The openings are listed on the town's web site. If interested, please contact the Town Manager's office.
Need to get rid of your Christmas tree: The town's Transfer Station will continue to accept Christmas trees in the brush pile free of charge for residents who need a place to dispose of their trees.
