Merrimack Road Closed After Tractor-Trailer, SUV Head-On Crash

The crash on Continental Boulevard closed the road while firefighters extricated the SUV driver who was seriously injured in the crash.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack fire and police responded to Continental Boulevard around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday for a head-on collision.

When responders arrived, they found a man heavily entrapped in a car that had collided with a tractor-trailer. Firefighters used multiple cutting tools and jaws of life for almost 45 minutes to extricate the driver.

The driver was transported to a local hospital and was seriously injured but the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening

Initial information at the scene indicated that the tractor-trailer was traveling East on Continental Blvd and the passenger car was traveling West on Continental Blvd.

The accident is being investigated by Merrimack Police and NH State Police Troop G who handle investigations involving commercial vehicles.

The accident has closed the road between Tinker Road and Naticook Road while the investigation of the accident is completed.
