Heavy Rain Causes Multiple Crashes On Highways Across NH

Numerous vehicles hydroplaned on New Hampshire highways on Saturday, losing control and causing several multi-vehicle collisions.

MERRIMACK, NH — Heavy rain came down Saturday across the state causing ponding of water on several highways. NH State Police responded to numerous accidents on highways.

In Merrimack, on the Everett Turnpike south, near the Nashua line, a vehicle hydroplaned and hit the guardrail, and then was struck by another passenger car. After the initial crash, a box truck rear-ended one of the vehicles pushing it into the guardrail. Merrimack Fire transported one person to the hospital with what appear to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Moments after the Merrimack crash a multi-vehicle accident occurred on Everett South at exit 8. Two vehicles struck each other, and a third vehicle attempting to avoid the collision crashed. No one required medical attention.
