Heroes Blood Drive, Veterans Day March and More

What's on tap for the week.

Heroes Blood Drive. In honor of Veterans Day, Merrimack teen Brandon Snell is holding his fifth annual Heroes Blood Drive, Monday, Nov. 11, from 2-7 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church. More than 300 pints of blood have been collected in the first four years. Help make this the biggest year yet.

Veterans Day March. The town will observe Veterans Day today with a march from Town Hall to the Last Rest Cemetery at 11 a.m. Come out and support the men and women who've served the country in the armed services during this ceremony.

DW Diner Raffle. The D.W. Diner is raffling off a 42-inch HDTV with 100 percent of the proceeds from the raffle going to buy holiday presents for children at the Childrens Hospital at Dartmouth. Tickets are on sale at both DW Diner in Merrimack and DW Diner II in Manchester. So far the restaurants have raised $3,467 in raffle ticket sales and donations. Tickets are on sale until Sunday, Nov. 17. The winner of the TV will be announced Nov. 17. Tickets are 3 for $10. Stop by to get yours today.

Merrimack Planning Board. The Merrimack Planning Board will meet Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Matthew Thornton Room for a regularly-scheduled meeting. On the agenda, the board will here from Gate City Collision Center who is proposing a change of use for the former Uncle Hildes Lumber Barn and previous Saab dealership, to turn it into an automotive repair center. Governor to speak at luncheon. On Friday, Nov. 15, Gov. Maggie Hassan is slated to speak at the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence Hall of Fame Luncheon. The luncheon will be held at LaBelle Winery, 345, Route 101 in Amherst at 1 p.m.
