Local Woman Charged with Fleeing Accident
Judith Gifford of Merrimack was charged with conduct after an accident after police say she hit a vehicle at a local restaurant and left the scene.

A Merrimack woman was arrested on Dec. 27 after she hit another car in the parking lot of a local restaurant and left the scene.
Judith Gifford, 66, of 24 Garnet Lane was charged with conduct after an accident following an investigation, according to a Merrimack Police press release issued by Merrimack Police Capt. Peter Albert.
According to police, Gifford allegedly struck another car with her vehicle in the parking lot of the Tortilla Flats Restaurant and left the scene. Police said a white Toyota Camry sustained front end damage. Witnesses said they observed another driver who operated another Toyota Camry had struck the first vehicle and left the scene without exchanging information.
Police were given the plate number of the other vehicle involved and after making contact with Gifford, they determined that she was the driver whose car had struck the other vehicle and left the scene.
According to police, a warrant was later issued for the charge of Conduct after an Accident. Gifford turned herself in at the Merrimack Police Department on Dec. 30. She was later released on $1,000 personal recognizance bail and she is scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court, Merrimack Division on January 21.
