Man Arrested On Sexual Assault, Child Image Charges In Merrimack
Logan Chaput, a Milford baseball coach, was arrested on felony charges after an investigation into incidents in two communities in 2019.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Milford baseball coach was arrested by police in Merrimack Wednesday on numerous charges after being accused of sexual assaulting and manufacturing child sexual abuse images with boys.
In late August, police in Merrimack were contacted by Milford police about a child sexual abuse image investigation of Logan D. Chaput, 22, of Crosby Street in Milford that might have a connection to Merrimack.
Milford police had issued a search warrant of his electronic devices and accused him of communicating with a boy since May 2019 after they became acquainted with each other via baseball. Later, the investigation revealed accused activity with a second boy.

Chaput was an assistant coach with the Post 98 Merrimack Baseball League and is majoring in sports management at Southern New Hampshire University. His name has since been removed from the organization's website.
After interacting with the Child Advocacy Center, interviewing the victims, speaking with parents, and also Chaput, Merrimack police accused him of sexual assault charges. Police also accused him of obtaining "numerous sexually explicit images from a minor via electronic communication," according to Det. Jeffrey Sprankle of the Merrimack Police Department.

During an interview, according to an affidavit, "Logan initially told me he didn't know what I was talking about," the detective said. Later though, Chaput "admitted" to receiving pictures from a boy and sexually assaulting a boy.
The detective in the affidavit stated Logan "visits many people with kids" and also travels out of state, specifically, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, but did not mention any other accusations against him.
Chaput was arrested on felonious sexual assault, manufacture of child sexual abuse images, and attempted manufacture of child sexual abuse images, all felonies, as well as a misdemeanor sexual assault charge. He was arraigned Thursday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South and released on personal recognizance bail — with the understanding that he would have no unsupervised contact with minors or any contact with the children or their parents.
