Merrimack Community Invited To National Night Out
The annual National Night Out in Merrimack will feature a softball game between police and Merrimack High School, free movie, games, food.

MERRIMACK, NH — The annual National Night Out is coming up on Tuesday, and in Merrimack the event will feature a softball game between police officers and Merrimack High School students. Lots of other activities are also in store, including games, face painting, demonstrations and a late-night movie. The event starts at 5 p.m. Tuesday, with most activities taking place at the Merrimack American Legion, located at 43 Baboosic Lake Road.
National Night Out is an annual community-building event aimed to foster relationships between the public and the local emergency officials. It's a great chance to get to know one's neighbors and the town's police officers, according to the Merrimack Police Department.
The event will kick off with the open house of the Merrimack police station, located at 31 Baboosic Lake Road. The police will also conduct a car seat safety check for those who are interested.

The softball game between police officers and Merrimack High School will take place from 5 p.m., and will continue until around 7:15 p.m. The game will be played at the American Legion Field, and parking will be on O'Gara Drive.
Throughout National Night Out, there will be a variety demonstrations, music, face painting and food. Bailey's Towing will conduct an airbag demonstration at 6:30 p.m. The Merrimack Fire Department will do a Jaws of Life demonstration at 7 p.m. DJ Mike Kelly will provide the music, and the Merrimack Crimeline will provide hot dogs and popcorn. There will be an American Legion horseshoe tournament, and Merrimack Girl Scouts will do face painting.

These at the event can take advantage of pet CPR and adult choking demonstrations, and Dave Anderson will be making balloons. Those from Launch Trampoline Park and Altitude Trampoline Park will be on hand. The Merrimack First Robotics Club will do robotic demonstrations. There will be a touch-a-truck with Merrimack Public Works, ice cream from Haywards.
Even Santa Claus is expected to make a special appearance at this Tuesday's event. He will be available for photos, police say.
From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., the Merrimack Parks & Recreation Department is holding a free movie night. Viewers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy Incredibles 2 from the American Legion softball field.
National Night Out is free to attend. The local event is sponsored in part by the Merrimack Crimeline.
