Merrimack Fire And Police Locate Hiker Needing Medical Assistance
A hiker found unresponsive by other hikers was 1.5 miles into the woods. Police and fire crews were able to locate the man and render aid.
MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack Fire, EMS, and police responded to a call for an unresponsive male found on a hiking trail in Horse Hill Nature Preserve by other hikers on Wednesday.
The location of the person requiring medical attention was unclear and described as being about 1.5 miles in on the Loop trail. Several fire crews responded and brought the fire department “Gator” designed to be used in off-road conditions.
When the person was located he was given medical aid and transported to the entrance to the trail near Old Kings Highway to a waiting ambulance. The person was transported to a local hospital for additional medical care.

Utilizing several firefighters, and police along with coordination from the Merrimack police dispatcher allowed for crews to get to the hiker and render medical aid.
