Merrimack Gets Ready to Ring in New Year

Town offices to close Wednesday for New Year's Day; more snow headed this way later this week.

Town offices to close Wednesday: Merrimack residents who have any town business to do can get it done today before the Merrimack Town Offices, the town transfer station and public library will close for New Year's Day on Wednesday.

Kids head back to school Thursday:
Merrimack school kids will have two more days for Christmas vacation before they are scheduled to head back to class on Thursday, Jan. 2.

More snow on the way:
According to the National Weather Service, the Merrimack area could get walloped with several inches of snow on Thursday and Friday. Stay with Merrimack Patch to stay up to date on this winter storm.

Ice rink open:
If you are looking for a fun winter activity on the last day of 2013, a.k.a. New Year's Eve, the town Recreation Department announced last week the ice rink has reopened for the season.

Get your 2014 hunting or fishing license. New Hampshire fishing and hunting licenses for 2014 are now available for purchase. Get yours early and be set for a WILD year of outdoor adventure, from ice fishing this winter to bagging your deer next fall.
