Merrimack Man Charged After Striking Utility Pole
A Merrimack man was charged with DUI this weekend after crashing a vehicle into a pole in a rollover crash, police say.
MERRIMACK, NH — A Merrimack man was arrested this weekend after being involved in a rollover vehicle crash at the intersection of Naticook Road and Westborn Drive. Pierre Watt, 22, of Merrimack, was driving under the influence of alcohol when he struck a telephone pole in that area on Saturday, according to police. He was charged with operating under the influence of liquor.
Police say the accident occurred around 6:01 p.m., when the vehicle Watt was driving left the paved portion of the road and struck a telephone pole. The vehicle was lying on its side when police arrived. According to police, Watt showed signs of impairment.
Watt was released on personal recognizance bail after his arrest, and is scheduled to appear at Merrimack Circuit Court on Thursday.
