Merrimack Man Dies in Motorcycle Crash

NH State Police say the motorcyclist collided with an SUV stopped at traffic lights in Stratham.

A Merrimack man has died from injuries suffered when his motorcycle collided with a vehicle on Route 108 in Stratham on June 2, according to New Hampshire State Police.

State Police identified the motorcyclist as Leon Haas, 61.

Police responded to the accident scene at about 2 p.m. The preliminary investigation showed that Haas, on a 2009 Harley Davidson, was traveling south on Route 108 when he lost control of the motorcycle and collided with a Honda CRV driven by Kyle Smith, 44, of Newfields, according to State Police.

Smith's vehicle was stopped heading southbound at the traffic lights in front of the Shaw's plaza.

The accident remains under investigation. The Stratham police and fire departments assisted State Police at the scene.
