One Sent to Hospital in 3-Car Crash

Accident happened when one car hit a motorcycle, forcing the bike to hit a motorcycle.

A Merrimack motorcyclist was taken to the hospital Friday evening with what police said were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries sustained in a three-vehicle accident near the intersection of Daniel Webster Highway and Front Street.

James Howard, 36, of Merrimack, was transported to Catholic Medical Center in Manchester after the motorcycle he was riding was struck from behind, pushing his bike into the car in front of him.

According to a police press release, Howard's 1993 Suzuki GS 500E was struck by a 2003 Toyota Corolla driven by Tyler Ploss, 16, of Merrimack, while Ploss was attempting to pass traffic on D.W. Highway. The force of the accident caused Howard's bike to hit the 2005 Cadillac SRX ahead of him.
