Vehicle Rollover In Merrimack Snaps Utility Pole, Closes Road

Merrimack firefighters and police were sent to Joppa Road for a crash with minor injuries. A dog was uninjured during the rollover.

MERRIMACK, NH — Merrimack firefighters and police responded to a rollover accident with a utility pole snapped on Joppa Road at 8 a.m. When they arrived on scene the driver had self extricated and was inside a nearby house with what appeared to be minor injuries. The driver also had a black dog in the car and the dog was uninjured in the accident.

Merrimack Police removed the dog from the scene.

The pole was shattered into multiple pieces and left hanging from the power lines. Eversource was called to the scene and ensured the scene was safe for first responders. According to Eversource, there were no power outages from the accident but as repairs are done, there may be outages for a short period of time.

Kinney Towing removed the vehicle from the scene so that Eversource and other utility companies could begin their repairs. The repairs are expected to be worked on for the entire day.

Joppa Road to Bedford Road remains closed and is expected to be closed for several hours.
