• Merrimack resident proposes mushrooms as PFAS solution (unionleader.com) — A young Merrimack environmental organizer is pushing an innovative plan to use mushrooms to help clean PFAS contamination linked to the former Saint-Gobain plant in town. She’s seeking state, grant, and possibly company support to test large-scale mycoremediation on or near the closed facility, hoping to turn Merrimack’s contamination stigma into a model of community-driven resilience and cleanup.
   

• Federal legislation would recognize cancer work hazard for firefighters (wmur.com) — A Merrimack firefighter’s family story is helping drive federal legislation that would expand death and disability benefits for firefighters who develop job-related cancers. New Hampshire already presumes cancer as a work-related illness, and now Congress is weighing the Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act to extend similar protections nationwide and improve firefighter health safeguards.
