3 NH Teens In Tesla Seriously Hurt In Crash, Fire

New Hampshire State Police said a teenager was likely speeding when he crashed his Tesla sport utility vehicle into a tree in Rindge.

RINDGE, NH — Three teenagers were hurt — one critically — after a fiery crash in Rindge the day after Christmas. The teens were in a Tesla Model X sport utility vehicle driven by Travis Olson, 17, of Rindge, according to New Hampshire State Police Trooper Bryan Plamondon. Olson "appeared" to be speeding on Perry Road at about 8:15 p.m. when he veered off the road and struck a tree, according to Plamondon.

The vehicle split in two and erupted in flames. Olson and passenger Chelsea Holombo, 17, of New Ipswich, were seriously injured. Another passenger, Nina Colasanto, 19, of New Ipswich, suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to UMass Memorial Medical Center.

Good Samaritans who witnessed the crash assisted in stabilizing the teens before emergency crews arrived, according to Plamondon.

"While all aspects of the crash are still under investigation, it appears that speed was a factor in this crash," Plamondon said in a statement.
