After two days of swimming July 20-21 the 45th annual Milford Area Rotary Swim meet is in the record books.

The Milford Area Rotary Club has sponsored this invitational swim meet to all area swimmers since 1969. The Rotary Club pays for the event so the swimmers can participate free of charge.

This year saw 17 teams and 622 swimmers from New Hampshire and Massachusetts at Keyes Park in Milford. The Rotary Club of Milford pays for all of the awards and charges nothing to the swimmers.

The weekend was a fun time for swimmers and their families. The Saco Valley Swim Team, a newcomer to the meet, were especially impressed.

"Our swimmers and our team had a wonderful experience at this year's Milford Rotary swim meet. We will definitely be coming back and hopefully with more swimmers and for both days next year. The park is well maintained and a tribute to the community. The work of the Milford Rotary is an inspiring legacy to the power and longevity of your community aquatics program,” said Maury McKinney, coach of Saco Valley Swim Team.
