Cave Girl Field Hockey and Lacrosse camps begins later this month.
Athletes of all ages are getting ready for another season of learning and fun with Cave Girl Field Hockey and Lacrosse.
Cave Girl Field Hockey and Lacrosse is a sports instruction and league program that builds fundamental athletic skills for young girls. Cave Girl has given young athletes of all ability levels a chance to hone their abilities for the past 16 years.
And this year’s program is bigger and better than ever, according to its founder and director.

Amanda Rogers of Amherst has been gearing up to start her summer season with Cave Girl, and is excited to offer college and adult league in field hockey this year. The program has focused on young girls and teens, but Rogers said that the demand is high to bring more into the mix.
“I am all about keeping the program fresh,” she said. “I listened to what people want and already have a large amount of adult and college-aged players signed up.

Rogers said Cave Girl was founded to fill the gap of training for these sports, which are steadily gaining in popularity in the area. Her own young children are already wielding field hockey sticks, but many older players love the sport and have few playing options.
Athletes should look out for even more growth from Cave Girl. Rogers is planning to expand her fall clinics, and even add more boys to her programs.
Talented guest coaches are brought in each year to provide experienced instruction to each age group. Among them are Carla Hesler, head field hockey coach of St. Michael's College Purple Knights, and US Field Hockey sports development director Courtney Tavener.
The Cave Girl Field Hockey Camp runs from July 15-19 at The Derryfield School, while the league runs Tuesday nights from June 18-August 6. Cave Girl will return to its usual spot at Southern New Hampshire University once their field reconstruction is finished on July 30.
Summer Lacrosse Camp with Bedford’s own Christine Hodgdon begins July 29 at Joppa Farm Fields.
