How Many Students Have Dropped Out of Milford High School?

A look at dropout numbers the high school has seen the past few years,

Milford High School's has a slightly higher, but similar dropout rate to high schools in the area, according to data from the New Hampshire Department of Education.

The high school had nine out of 919 students dropout during the 2011-12 school year. A total of three early exit non graduate students went on to earn their GED during that time.

Milford had a similar rate in its 2009-10 school year with a total of eight students dropping out.

Nearby high schools also have a dropout rate that stays in the single digits, although Milford has seen a slightly higher number. Merrimack High School had eight dropouts, Bedford had four and Hollis-Brookline had three during 2011-12.

Souhegan High School is one of the few schools to boast zero dropouts during that time.

New Hampshire state totals show that 778 out of the 61,667 students enrolled in high school had dropped out that school year.

The highest dropout numbers come out of the Nashua and Manchester school districts. The Manchester School District alone had 197 of its 5,543 students dropout.

In Milford, a majority of high school "completers,” which includes students that were issued a standard diploma, as well as those who received a certificate of attendance or a non-standard diploma, went on to college

A total of 40 percent of the 215 graduates during the 2011-12 school year went down this path, while 34.9 percent went onto colleges under four years. That year also saw 18.1 percent of graduates employed and 0.9 percent unemployed.

That year also saw 6.1 percent of graduates join the armed forces.
