Institute of Art Hosts Show at Sharon Arts Center Gallery
"Mia Mead: Explorations of Light and Color" runs through Aug. 1.

New Hampshire Institute of Art (NHIA) will be hosting “Mia Mead: Explorations of Light and Color” at the Sharon Arts Center located at 30 Grove St. in Peterborough, from July 3 to Aug. 1, 2015, according to a press statement.
The exhibit will open with a reception on Friday, July 3, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Members Gallery.
Mia Mead, a New England native, is known for her love of watercolor and for exploring the effects of light in landscape. This particular exhibit will showcase a variety of works Mead completed while traveling in France as well as works she has produced since coming to Peterborough in 2008. She has recently taken interest in more abstract paintings and is enjoying the challenge of transitioning from landscapes to the subtle qualities of abstract works.

“We’re thrilled to host this exhibit and look forward to sharing this sampling of Mead’s work with gallery visitors,” said Kate Lenahan, assistant director of NHIA’s galleries. “We work hard to curate exhibits that people enjoy and can be inspired by and Mead’s collection is certainly no exception.”
Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday, 11a.m. to 4 p.m.
