UPDATE - Jack found his forever home!

Jack is a sweet lab who got dealt a bad hand on the streets of Puerto Rico.

He was roaming the streets of PR, hungry, alone, and neglected when he happened upon a dog in heat which was surrounded by several feral males dogs. He was then viciously attacked by the pack, they had severed his artery, and damaged him with many other wounds. Jack nearly died from the encounter.

I'll spare you the gruesome pictures and show you this one below of him recovering and cleaned up. Poor Jack. :(

Thankfully the hard work and dedication of Bonnie Lukas, and her team at Second Chance Animal Rescue in PR responded quickly to the 911 call about Jack. They were able to save him and nurse him back to health.

Jack is now currently in foster care with a wonderful couple in Milford, NH.

He is having a hard time finding his furever home; not because he is a bad dog, but because he needs to be the only animal in the home. Jack is actually the sweetest dog you will ever meet!

But because of his past, he is afraid of other animals and we want to give Jack the best life possible by being the only one to get all the love and attention. He so deserves that after what he has had to endure.

We also think he would do well in a home with no small children as he weighs about 58 pounds and does get excited when he sees humans. We wouldn't want him knocking down the small child(ren) and hurting them.

Jack's vaccinations are up to date and he has been neutered. He is also house trained. He would make a great hiking partner and he would also like a cozy couch when it's time to rest.
