Milford's Alene Candles Breaks Ground On New Ohio Warehouse

The candle company with 210 employees in New Hampshire is building a new $30-million facility in New Albany, Ohio.

MILFORD, NH — Milford-based candle company Alene Candles announced it broke ground on a $30-million, 280,000 square-foot warehouse in New Albany, Ohio on Tuesday. Alene Candles employs 210 people in New Hampshire and nearly 170 people in Ohio, with the company saying that 58 new jobs are expected to be created in Ohio once the new facility is complete.

"Expanding in Ohio allows us to work with our customers to meet their needs and to make the best candles in the world," said Rod Harl, President of Alene Candles. "With our New Hampshire location, we have a great example to follow for the new facility's layout and managing its day-to-day operations. We know that our New Hampshire facility and team will continue to provide a great example, thriving and driving business, well into the future."

The new facility will be approximately one mile away from Alene's Ohio location on Smith's Mill Road in New Albany, opened in 2012.
