Riverbend Youth Company Spreads Christmas Cheer with Elf, Jr.!

Local kids bring the family-friendly story of Buddy the Elf to the stage!

The above is a memorable quote from the just as memorable movie, Elf, which is one of the most successful (and hilarious) Christmas films to be released in the last 15 years. And now, Buddy the Elf is coming to Milford with Riverbend Youth Company’s upcoming performance of Elf, Jr!

Featuring the same lovable characters as the movie and with the addition of fun holiday numbers such as “SparkleJollyTwinkleJingley”, “Happy All the Time”, and “The Story of Buddy”, Elf, Jr. will be performed by elementary and middle school students from Milford, Amherst, Hollis, Brookline, Mont Vernon, and several other surrounding towns. At the helm of the show is a creative team including director Laurie Toupin, music director Kim Whitehead, choreographer Madison Calabria, and costumer Julia Bucklin.

The musical is family friendly and is packed with holiday cheer – a perfect event to get in the spirit of the holiday season! Upcoming performances include You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Guys and Dolls, the annual all-dance production, and Seussical the Musical.

The Riverbend Youth Company just celebrated its 100th show and is a staple in the community. RYC is a program through the Boys & Girls Club of Souhegan Valley at the Amato Center for the Performing Arts, which provides high-quality performance and technical theater opportunities to hundreds of kids every year. Tickets are $12 adults, $8 for students and seniors and are available online at.amatocenter.org or at the door. Performances for Elf, Jr. are December 16 at 7:30, December 17 at 2:30 and 7:30, and December 18 at 2:30.
