Septic Truck Hit By Car Spills Sewage On Roadway

A car rear-ended a septic truck breaking the valve off the truck, resulting in 3,500 gallons of sewage spilling on the roadway

MILFORD, NH - Milford Fire, EMS, and Police responded to Nashua Rd and Route 101 at 1:30 Tuesday for a two-vehicle accident involving a septic truck.

When arriving on the scene they had a septic truck from A-Bee Septic which was struck from behind by a small passenger car. When the car struck the truck it sheered the valve from the back of the truck emptying the contents on the ground.

Approximately 3,500 gallons of sewage spilled onto the roadway and Milford Fire attempted to prevent flow to open catch basins.

NH DES was notified as well as NH State Police Troop G to come to the scene to assist.

While working on the accident a Milford Fire vehicle burst into flames causing a significant amount of damage to the vehicle.

Traffic was detoured around the scene while crews worked on both incidents.
