KEENE, NH — A Texas man is facing felony charges after being accused of kidnapping two New Hampshire girls, driving them to New York City, and then, getting captured by state police in Hartford, Connecticut, on Friday.

Around 9 a.m., Swanzey police called Troop C New Hampshire State Police detectives requesting assistance with a kidnapping incident that occurred in their town during the early morning hours on Friday. Police told troopers that a teen from Texas had flown to the state with the intention of meeting with a 17-year-old girl who he had been talking to on a popular messaging application.

After meeting the girl, the suspect, later identified as Cameron Snody, 18, of Fort Worth, TX, was accused of stealing the girl's brother's vehicle — a 2006 Saturn Ion, and driving her and a friend, 15, to New York City. During the course of the incident, contact was made with the 15-year-old girl. She told family members that they were traveling northbound on a highway.
