5 Things: It's All About the 3D Benjamins, Baby
News you can use, meant to inform, enlighten and entertain.

Editor's Note: 4 of these 5 things are recycled from Tuesday - due to a technicality, this information did not go out in the morning newsletter. -CR
1. Check Out the New $100 Bills: Ben Franklin gets a makeover, sort of, with the newly minted $100 bills, which go into circulation as of Oct. 8. The bill represents the most technologically advanced U.S. currency ever produced, according to newmoney.gov. There are two new security features - a blue security ribbon on the front of the note is 3-D and contains images of the Liberty Bell or the number "100," each in vertical rows. When the bill is moved back and forth or side to side, a row of 100s moves to the ribbon's center position, replacing a row of bells. Also, the front of the bill has a color-shifting inkwell that changes from copper to green. Also, is it me, or does Ben Franklin seem to be judging me with that look on his face?
2. Autism Speaks Fundraiser at UNOs: Stop by any UNO location on Wednesday, October 9, from 11:30 a.m. until 1 a.m., and 20 percent of your bill will be donated to Autism Speaks.  Please print out and bring the ticket uploaded here, or show it on your cell phone to ensure your meal is counted toward the Autism Speaks fundraiser! Two Nashua UNOs: 304 DW Highway and 593 Amherst St.
3. Red Cross Blood Drive Today:Â You can roll up your sleeve and save a few lives starting at 3:30 p.m. during the Red Cross Blood Drive at St. Christopher's, 62 Manchester St.
4. Leapin' Lizards! Look, Pinocchio Lizards, thought to be extinct for the past half-century, are alive and well. I promise, clicking this link will be worth seeing what a Pinocchio Lizard looks like.
5. That Stinks! I did not know I was supposed to be helping with a government study of stink bugs. But now, even if I wanted to, I can't -  the government's  Great Stink Bug Count which runs from from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, has been interrupted by the shutdown of the federal government, which is unfortunate because it’s prime time for stink bugs as they look for indoor spaces to spend the winter.  You can read more here.
