Nashua Candidates File in NH House, Senate, Council Races

The state candidate filing period closed June 13 and the top of the ticket features races in which Republicans are trying to unseat Democratic incumbents, from the governor's office to U.S. Senate. 

There are also interesting primary battles for New Hampshire Executive Council, state Senate and the state House of Representatives among Nashua residents.

In the race for Executive Council District 5, there are Republican and Democratic primaries owing to Councilor Deb Pignatelli not running for re-election. Stepping up to try to succeed her are Democrats Diane Sheehan of Nashua and Jennifer Daler Temple of Temple. Republicans seeking to represent District 5 are Steve Hattamer of Hollis and Dave Wheeler of Milford. Thomas P. Stawasz of Hollis filed a Declaration of Intent for Executive Council District 5 for the General Election.

The state filing period closed at 5 p.m. Friday, but the Republican and Democratic parties have until June 18 to fill vacancies on party tickets.
