Amherst Fire Rescue Responds To Trees, Wires Down In Storm: Log

AMHERST, NH — Amherst Fire Rescue responded to 23 medical calls and several reports of trees down on electrical wires due to the Oct. 17 storm during Oct. 16 to Oct. 23. Amherst Fire Rescue had seven reports of trees and wires down from 1 a.m. to 9 a.m. the morning of the overnight storm.

The storm brought 50 mile-per-hour winds to the state and knocked out power to thousands.

At about 2 a.m. Amherst Fire Rescue responded to Mack Hill Road for a tree on a wire. At about 5 a.m. there was a call for a tree on a wire on Boston Post Road. Shortly before 6 a.m. there was a call for a tree on a wire on Pavillion Road.

About 6 a.m. there were two calls for wires down on Walnut Hill Road. At about 7 a.m. there was another call for wires down on Mount Vernon Road. At 8 a.m., Amherst Fire Rescue responded to another call for a tree on a wire on Mack Hill Road.

On Oct. 16, at about 10:30 a.m., Amherst Fire Rescue responded to a carbon monoxide alarm activation on Route 13.

On Oct. 16, at about 6:30 p.m., Amherst Fire Rescue responded to a fire alarm activation on Buckridge Drive.

On Oct. 19, at about 11:30 a.m., Amherst Fire Rescue responded to an illegal burn on New Boston Road.

On Oct. 19, at about 3 p.m., Amherst Fire Rescue responded to a propane odor on Mosswood Circle.
