Benson's Bakery Cafe Opens in Hudson
New bakery opened for business Jan. 27 in Hudson.
You know we'll be stopping by for some quality control testing of the goods, but in the meantime, here's the scoop, via Benson's Bakery and Cafe Facebook page:
"Benson’s Bakery & Cafe (203 Central Street, Hudson) is your hometown bakery and cafe offering sweet treats for any occasion. From specialty cakes to cookies, there is something for everyone to enjoy. Come dine in our cozy storefront and enjoy fresh bakery treats, delicious locally roasted coffee and specialty espresso drinks, a fresh-made breakfast sandwich or a relaxing lunch. With free wifi open to the public, we hope to provide a comfortable place to relax.
Owners Emily Erickson and Cory Boutin are Hudson natives. Having both worked in the food and hospitality industry for a combined 16 years, they are once again offering their talents to the community.Â
Emily Erickson has been baking since childhood and graduated with a degree in Baking & Pastry Arts from the world renowned Culinary Institute of America in 2009. Having worked in local bakeries for the last 7 years starting as counter help and working up to Assistant Baker followed by Head Baker and manager of a pastry and production team and now owner of Benson’s Bakery & Cafe.Â
Cory Boutin is one of the current owners of Hudson’s own Mike’s Pie, located in south Hudson on River Road. He has been working in restaurants for 9 years and is an active member of the Chamber of Commerce and other local networking opportunities.Â
Together, they are excited to welcome Hudson to its newest business and full service bakery and cafe. Come explore the bakery with its Hudson history from Benson’s Wild Animal Farm splashed throughout the store."
