Boy Scout Troop 19 Returns from Wyoming

23 scouts and leaders tour Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks

Boy Scout Troop 19 recently returned from Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks in Wyoming. The troop planned for over a year and the scouts earned their way by selling holiday wreaths. Twenty-three youth and leaders participated. The troop did several day hikes in Grand Teton National Park. While at Yellowstone the troop did more hiking and sightseeing to the popular venues including Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs, and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. The troop learned about the history of Yellowstone and about the environmental challenges in the park while on a charter tour of Yellowstone Lake. The scouts were able to view bison, elk, moose, and one bear!

The adventure trip enabled the scouts to further develop their leadership, self-reliance and team building skills while camping and hiking. The highlight of the trip for many was white water rafting along the Snake River.

Pilgrim Congregational Church of Nashua sponsors troop 19. Membership is open to boys who have completed the 5thgrade or are eleven years old. More information is at www.troop19.org. or by visiting on a Tuesday evening from 7pm-9pm at Pilgrim Church.
