Boy Scouts Host Pinewood Derby in Nashua
The annual Boy Scout tradition, the Pinewood Derby was held on Apr. 7 in Nashua.

NASHUA, NH - Cub Scouts from all around New Hampshire congregated on Apr. 7 for the annual Pinewood Derby, where scouts created and then raced wooden cars.
One of the most popular Cub Scout activities, the Arrowhead District Pinewood Derby was held at the Elm Street School in Nashua.

Jaiden, accompanied by his father, proudly displays his “King of the Jungle” adventure from Boy Scouts of America. This award was also presented at the March Pack Meeting

Boy Scouts and their family members started months ahead of time to prepare and build their cars with the goal of creating the fastest and best looking car in the pack.

Therin received the official awards from Boy Scouts of America for achieving “Baloo the Builder”, “Bear Claws”, and “Fellowship and Duty to God” Adventures. The awards were presented by his Den Leader at the March Pack Meeting.

According to the Boy Scouts, the car must pass strict guidelines for the official pre-race inspection, in which the inspection crew will measured for height, width, length, track clearance, wheel base, will also check wheels and axles, types of lubricants that are used.
The weight of the car is precisely measured, and cannot be over 5 ounces.
