Celebrity Sighting at the NH Rebellion: An Unexpected Brush with Fame

As if the NH Rebellion's Granny D Birthday Party on Jan. 24 wasn't exciting enough for Alderman Diane Sheehan. She relayed the following anecdote, which happened during the celebration. 

"Standing in line, I say to the woman standing behind me, 'We have met before, I think.'
She says, 'No, I don't think so.'

I said, 'You look familiar,' thinking she was a woman I spoke to at the library a couple of weeks ago.

She says 'No, I don't look familiar.' 

I say, 'But you are the woman that looks like the little girl in 'Uncle Buck.'
She says, 'I am Gaby.'

I say, 'Ha ha ha –  so you get that a lot?'

She says, "No, I am ACTUALLY Gaby.'

I am like, 'No, no, nooo ... yes, yes, yes, you are! '

I ask her if she lives around here now. She tells me she lives in New York City now. She tells me she is here for the Granny D birthday –  she made the walk to bring attention to the important issue of campaign finance reform.

 As a child of the '80s, of course, I have made sure my kids have seen every John Hughes or John Candy movie. My children especially love 'Uncle Buck,' so I asked for a picture to show them when they got home from skiing that night.

Just a little nostalgic Hollywood in French Hill tonight."
