City Of Nashua Declares Snow Emergency
A snow emergency has been declared by the city beginning at 10 p.m. and running through Sunday. Here is everything you need to know.

NASHUA, NH — The city of Nashua has declared a snow emergency through Sunday.
The emergency officially begins at 10 p.m. but residents can prepare now, according to Lauren Byers, a public relations administrator for the city's public works department.
A nor'easter is expected to drop between eight and 12 inches of snow in the Gate City. Visibility may be reduced at times due to the snow's thickness. Public works, she said, can sometimes have a difficult time during heavy, wet snow storms.

"Forecasts are calling for deteriorating conditions Saturday night," Byers said. "This storm is likely to contain heavy bands of wet snow which will impact travel in the area. If you don't need to be out on the roads, please stay off them for your safety and to make room for equipment working to keep roads open. We are recommending residents limit travel if possible. Give yourself extra time if you need to be on the road. Residents should only expect primary routes to be cleared initially during this storm."
Some side streets in the city may take a while to plow and sidewalks will not be cleared until crews finish residential streets, she added.

During the snow emergency, no on-street or municipal surface lot parking will be allowed. Free parking is available in the Elm and High streets garages from now until Sunday.
The city of Nashua will begin towing vehicles at 10 p.m. Saturday. If your vehicle has been towed, it can be retrieved at the solid waste department after paying a $315 fine. Only cash, money order, and credit card will be accepted for payment. Vehicles can be picked up at any time during the snow emergency or, after the emergency ends, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
"Preparedness is everyone's responsibility," she said. "Take the time now to ensure that you and your family will be safe during this winter storm."
The snow emergency is slated to end at 6 a.m. Sunday.
