Daniel Eckstein, 22: Husband, Father, Decorated Army Specialist
Services Wednesday in Nashua. Trust fund set up for his young son, Brayden.

Daniel R. Eckstein, 22, a U. S. Army Specialist of Nashua and Fayetteville, NC, died December 10, 2013 at Cape Fear Medical Center in Fayetteville of injuries from an ATV accident on December 1.
Born in Lowell, Mass., on January 5, 1991, Daniel is the son of Hans Eckstein of Groton, Mass., Â and Sharon (Green) Eckstein McLaughlin of Lowell, Mass.
A resident of Nashua since 1997, Daniel was educated in local schools and was a graduate of Nashua High School North with the Class of 2009. During his high school years, Dan played with the Titans baseball team. Dan enlisted in the Army in 2011 and was a member of the 3rd Special Forces Group stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he was a UAV Mechanic. He was a graduate of the Airborne School and Warrior Leader Course. SPC Eckstein was the recipient of the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, The Army Good Conduct Medal, and The National Defense Service Medal. In his leisure time, he loved playing baseball and football. Besides his parents, Dan is survived by his wife, Kristina D. (Burton) Eckstein of Nashua, whom he married on January 9, 2011; his son, Brayden Daniel Eckstein; his sister, Amy Eckstein of North Carolina; his step-father, Edward McLaughlin of Lowell; his maternal grandmother, Barbara Green of Nashua; grandparents, Peter and Elaine Beaton of Nashua; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Michael and Darlene Burton and their daughter Summyr of Nashua; also aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be held at the Farwell Funeral Home, 18 Lock Street, Nashua, on Dec. 18Â from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home Dec. 19Â at 2 p.m. followed by Military Honors and Interment in Edgewood Cemetery.
