Daniel Webster College Basketball Brawl: 2 Players, Fan Arrested (Video)

Daniel Webster College basketball player Marquise Caudill punched an opposing player and Antwaun Boyd incited the crowd, police said.

NASHUA, NH — Two Daniel Webster College basketball players and a fan were arrested Saturday after a brawl broke out during a game, police said. Guard Marquise Caudill, 22, was caught on video punching an opposing player then stomping him on the ground. Caudill was charged with second-degree assault and held on $50,000 bail.

The other player, Antwaun Boyd, 23, also a guard, was charged with disorderly conduct after "inciting the crowd," police said.

The fan, Elizabeth Morris, of Malden, Massachusetts, was charged with obstructing police. Morris "stood between (an officer) and Caudill, in essence preventing (the officer) from being able to make the arrest," police said.

Twenty-five police officers were dispatched to the game to restore order.

The brawl broke out as Daniel Webster played Southern Vermont College in a Division 3 contest Saturday afternoon with the score 2-0 in the first quarter. The player Caudill hit was Kyle DePollar, a 6-foot sophomore who was coming off a concussion, according to D3hoops.com. Caudill is 6 feet, 7 inches and a junior.

As a result of the brawl, Daniel Webster forfeited and Southern Vermont was awarded a victory. Coincidentally, the game was the final one for Daniel Webster basketball program, as the college is being shut down and absorbed by Southern New Hampshire University.
