The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for most of New Hampshire until Wednesday, July 16, at 2 p.m.
There is a "special weather statement" in effect until 4 p.m Tuesday for Hillsborough County and vicinity, which means the likelihood of severe thunderstorms with damaging wind gusts, and a chance of large hail. The National Weather Service said that "an isolated tornado can't be ruled out."
The forecast calls for multiple waves of showers and thunderstorms sweeping across southern New England through Wednesday afternoon.
Localized flash flooding is possible at any time, but the greatest risk appears to be Tuesday afternoon and overnight until early Wednesday, according to the National Weather Service.
Total rainfall projections range between 2 inches and 4 inches, yet some heavy downpours are likely, according to the most recent forecast.
