Hundreds Lined Hudson Roads To Honor Captain Ryan Phaneuf

People throughout the town lined the streets showing their respect for Phaneuf, who died in the line of duty​.

HUDSON, NH — Air Force Capt. Ryan Phaneuf, 30, of Hudson, was escorted by several Hudson Police and Fire units from Dumont-Sullivan Funeral Home to St. Kathryn’s Church where visiting hours were to be held Friday afternoon.

People throughout the town lined the streets holding flags, saluting and holding signs showing their respect for Phaneuf, who died in the line of duty Jan. 27. He was killed in a crash of their Bombardier E-11A electronic surveillance plane, in Ghazni Province, in eastern Afghanistan.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Feb. 28 from 1 - 8 p.m. in St. Kathryn’s Church, 4 Dracut Road in Hudson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, Feb. 29 at 10 a.m. in St. Kathryn’s Church. Ryan will receive full military honors in a private burial at Arlington National Cemetery on March 9, surrounded by family and friends.
