We have followed up this morning with a call to Fred Fuller, to see if things were "back to normal," on Friday, as Fuller predicted they would be.
An operator who answered the phone said Fuller was not in the office yet, so we'll be calling back later today to see if we can get an update directly from Fuller.
In the meantime, I reached out to Gov. Maggie Hassan. Her Communications Director, Marc Goldberg, sent this message back just now:
"The health and safety of individuals who are running dangerously low on heating oil due to delivery issues with Fred Fuller Oil Co. remain Governor Hassan’s primary concern. The Governor established the state hotline to ensure the safety of individuals in imminent danger of running out of heating oil and at risk of losing their heat. As of 9 am today, over 1500 individuals have called the hotline since it opened. However, the pace of incoming calls has slowed significantly, and most of highest priority cases appear to have been addressed. The hotline will remain open until we are confident that response times are sufficient to ensure the health and safety of customers. The Governor has spoken directly with Fred Fuller to express her concerns and state officials remain in contact with Fred Fuller Oil as the company works to address the situation. The Attorney General’s office is actively reviewing the circumstances involved."
I'd like to hear from you if you have lingering problems with oil delivery, or are satisfied that this was a "perfect storm" of problems – weather, increased demand and phone lines – for Fuller Oil Co.
