Kids From Around NH, New England Win NH PBS Writing Contest
NHPBS announced the 2019 winners which include young writers from Londonderry, Merrimack, Nashua, Portsmouth, Salem, and other communities.

DURHAM, NH — New Hampshire Public Television released the names of the winners of the 2019 NHPBS Kids Writers Contest on May 29, 2019. This year was the 25th year of the contest with more than 12,800 children participating mostly from New Hampshire but also all around New England. This year, contestants from New York and Oregon submitted work.
The contest encourages kids not only to enjoy reading but also explore their creativity by writing their own stories. From 10 a.m. to noon on June 15, an awards ceremony will be held for the first, second, and third place winners.
“The contest underscores our commitment to learning and creative expression,” said Susan Adams, NHPTV’s educational services manager. “The process of creative writing helps develop academic skills and improves a child’s self-confidence, creativity and imagination.”
