Lightning Strikes NH Church, Sparking Fire
NH police in Pelham said a lightning strike at the Pelham Congregational Church sparked a fire in the steeple.
PELHAM, NH — Lightning struck a Pelham church Friday, sparking a fire in the steeple. The blaze was extinguished and no one was hurt, authorities said. The strike happened at about 5 p.m. at the Pelham Congregational Church on Main Street.
Salem firefighters assisted Pelham firefighters in containing the blaze. The strike happened during a period of severe thunderstorms that hit Southern New Hampshire.
