Local Love Stories: Love Prevails Through Hard Times

"Although our circumstances of meeting may have seemed odd to many, it's actually what brought us closer together."

In honor of Valentine’s Day, we asked Patch readers to share their love stories.

Whether you’re a fan of Valentine’s Day or the thought of red and pink decorations makes you want to puke, we’ve got a hunch everyone could use some happy news this month. And what’s happier than a love story?

We asked Patch readers on Facebook to share their local love stories — how they met, where it all went down, and what’s kept them together. Here's the story of one Nashua local whose friendship with her current husband carried them both through the hard times and brought them emotional healing.

I met my husband Roger, when I was going through a divorce and right after he lost his first wife to cancer. I was his shoulder to cry on and he was mine. Our friendship blossomed into something much deeper only a short time later, and by June of the following year, we were married. That was almost 10 years ago.

I was also told by many professionals that I would never have kids, but about 5 months after we were married, we found out we were expecting! Truly a miracle. Lots of emotional healing happened that year.

We now have 2 wonderful kids (8 years and 4 years) and we have our 10 year anniversary coming this June! Although our circumstances of meeting may have seemed odd to many, it's actually what brought us closer together, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way!
