Man Accused of Striking Victim in the Head Multiple Times With Rock
Nashua Police said the man was charged with 10 counts of first-degree assault.
Nashua Police arrested a man Saturday for allegedly striking a man in the face and head multiple times with a rock during a reported assault in the area of Havana Street.
Officers responding to the scene found a 52-year-old man suffering from face and injuries. He was taken to a local hospital and then to the Lahey Clinic in Burlington, Mass., for treatment.
Police said officers located a man matching the description of the alleged assailant in the area of Ledge Street School and then took Joshua Newman, 29, into custody.
Newman, of 5 South Groton St., Nashua, was arrested and charged with 10 counts of first-degree assault, a class A felony, according to the Nashua Police Department.
Newman was scheduled to be arraigned in the 9th Circuit Court in Nashua on June 16.
Police said the victim is currently in stable condition at the Lahey Clinic.
