Man Charged with DUI in Weekend Crash That Injured 2
Jose Arana was released on $2,500 bail.

Jose Arana, 27, of 8 Tolles St., Nashua, was arrested Oct. 5 charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated in connection with a two-car crash that left a two people injured and closed traffic overnight on West Hollis Street.
Police say Arana was arrested at the scene of the crash at about 1 a.m., after rescuers responded to West Hollis and Pine Street at about 12:22 a.m for a report of a  two-car crash.
Arana was identified as the driver of one of the vehicles involved and was found to be under the influence of alcohol.  Police said witnesses reported seeing Arana’s Mitsubishi Lancer  traveling at a high rate of speed prior to the collision. The driver of the second vehicle, identified by police as Rosemary Hernandez, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was taken to the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for treatment. She was later transferred to Massachusetts General.

There were two additional occupants in Arana’s vehicle, Carlos Montero Nedina, 21, of Nashua, a rear passenger, who sustained serious injuries in the crash and was also taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for treatment; and Juan Montero, 28, also of Nashua, who sustained minor injuries.
Both injured parties are expected to survive, police said.Â

Detectives from the Nashua Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division and members of the Reconstruction Unit furthered the investigation, shutting down traffic overnight until about mid-morning on Saturday.
Each class B felony is punishable by up to 7 years imprisonment, exclusive of fines. Arana was released on $2,500 bail and is scheduled to he arraigned at the 9th Circuit Nashua District Division Court on October 17th, 2013.
