Narragansett Bay Getting Healthier
Narragansett Bay and Watershed are becoming healthy though big challenges still remain.

The Coastal Institute and the Narragansett Bay Estuary Program at the University of Rhode Island are releasing their 5th annual Watershed Counts Report on Monday morning
Although the health of the bay is improving their is till much more work to do. Executive director of the advocacy group Save The Bay, Jonathan Stone, said in a statement that waters around the region’s biggest cities, including Providence and Pawtucket in Rhode Island and Fall River in Massachusetts, still lack public access and continue to experience poor water quality throughout the year.
The report will highlight the work being done in Rhode Island and Massachusetts to restore the watershed, such as improvements to wastewater treatment plants and damn removal projects.
